Celebrating In The Sun

Last Sunday was spent at Crystal Cove Beach celebrating Rexy's Birthday  . . .  too much fun and maybe a little too much sun . . . sunburn ouch!  I made barbeque chicken and red potatoe salad, yum yum!  Food seems to taste better when you're out in the open.  The beach was beautiful and the waves were very powerful to say the least.  It was a little dangerous in the water, definitely had to stand with your feet deep in the sand, so you wouldn't tumble over.  Rexy's daughter Jennifer and family joined us along with some friends too.  We all had a good time!

Our Ride To Stearn's Wharf

Last Saturday, we rode to Stearn's Wharf with Rexy's bike club and as always had so much fun.  I really enjoy being on the bike, should I say it's sort of liberating, exciting to say the least.

We left early Saturday morning and I caught the shadow of Rex and I from the morning sunrise . . . too pretty!

I could not get over how aqua the water looked  . . . I so wanted to jump in that water, being so warm with all my gear on.  The views from the wharf were gorgeous, definitely a nice place to visit.  We had lunch at Moby Dick Restaurant on the wharf.  I enjoyed a crab and shrimp melt on sourdough, yum yum.

I took this pic of Rexy on the wharf in this old jacket he wears, beat up and ripped a little . . . he says it makes him feel proud for riding his motorcycle as long as he has, he's had this jacket forever.  Not a whole lot of protection I might say  . . . LOL!

These two pics above were on our way home, we stopped in Ventura to visit the coastal views, driving thru Malibu was totally congested with traffic, not fun.  The day almost did not end on a good note, coming through Culver City, Rex's bike stalled on the freeway, the bike over heated, good thing we weren't moving too fast because of traffic, we exited the 405 freeway and we coast across to a parking spot, got off the bike, walked to the nearest gas station and got something to drink.  Once we got back the bike turned on just fine and we took off again.

In this pic, Rex is calling the other riders to let them know we got off the freeway and had to wait  a while to let the bike cool down.

The pic below has nothing to do with the ride to Santa Barbara, but I just had to post it, this is Bev and I trying to figure out my phone to do a selfie . . . I snapped it and Bev didn't know it . . . too funny :O) We were having breakfast with the bike club Sunday morning . . . this is something the club does every Sunday morning in Fullerton.  Always too much fun . . . feeling very blessed, Thank you Lord xo

Motorcycle Road Trip

So glad we returned safely from our motorcycle trip to Eureka, California returning home down the coastline.  Absolutely just too much fun and scary at the same time.  Going 70 to 80 miles an hour can be intimidating sometimes I would think.  I literally took a chance at 57 years old and thought I would try it, so glad I did.  Riding with Rex's bike club is all about the miles you put in, so I didn't get to do to much shopping, but definitely a lot of site seeing.  Total mileage for the road trip was 1475 miles and I have a sore booty to prove it.   The Redwoods were beautiful!  We would leave as early as 7:00 AM in the morning, bundling up and taking off in the fog, a little cold at times, but definitely worth it.  Drove over the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.  Too foggy to even take a pic, too hard to see anything. Definitely was cold, I remember that.  Eating breakfast at Alice's Restaurant in Half Moon Bay was an experience to remember, so pretty up that way.  We ran into some rain coming through Santa Barbara, got a little wet but dried off coming through Ventura, got a little warm to say the least.  Hoping to post some more pics from Rex's camera soon.  Our next road trip will be on the 16th of this month, one day trip to Santa Barbara to visit Stearns Wharf.  Getting excited all over again . . . LOL!

That's me with a scarf over my face to protect it from the wind and sun.  Got a little warm at times but no sunburn and that's a good thing . . . in the Redwoods. Took this pic with my cell phone while riding up hill about 50 to 60 miles an hour, that was a challenge to say the least.

Having breakfast at Denny's with Jon and Joe.

Stopping for lunch, still a little foggy outside.

This was taken over Rex's shoulder, coming out of Half Moon Bay.

Back & Tired

Hey there!  We're are finally back from our road trip down the coast.  We had so much fun along with a  very sore backside from sitting on the motorcycle.  Looking forward to my next road trip to Santa Barbara on the 16th.  This will only be a one day trip, up and back.  Hoping to post some pics of the road trip real soon.  Rex and I spent the afternoon at Bolsa Chica Beach yesterday and had so much fun taking these pics below.
