Santa’s Arrived . . . Here we go!

Decorations are up, shopping is in session and the kids are coming . . . that always makes me happy!  Are we there yet, are we actually enjoying the holidays?  Sometimes it just comes way too fast and when it does arrive it’s over before we know it.  Sort of a downer when you think about it.

I’ve finally gotten to that age where I just want to enjoy the moment, not think too much about the future and have more gratitude in my heart for the life I’ve been given and the people that are in it that I loved so much. Gratitude always brings blessings!

Lately, when I’ve posted on my blog, haven’t really shared the word, as often as I should have.  I know when you stayed prayed up, you just feel better, everything feels better.  Staying close to God brings a lot of peace.  I have to admit, I’ve move away from reading the word, attending church and having a daily devotion and wordless conversations with God.  My goal for 2020 is to return back to that lifestyle again, but in my heart I feel it’s going to be different this time.  I’ve been an empty nester for awhile now and fully retired.  I was hoping to return back to work, but maybe not.  God has a game plan for me and I’m waiting to see what it will be with anticipation of course LOL!

He’s never leads us in the wrong direction and its always with purpose, which is comforting.

My family is growing and changing now.  I have a new daughter in law and she brought with her a beautiful little daughter, whom I just adore.  It’s open up a whole other side of me, it makes me very happy!

Well you know, it wouldn’t be normal for me not to talk about my decorations.  I’ve made a few things for this Christmas season, some ornaments and dolls of course.

Rexy helped me with the tree yesterday.  I always select a Noble Fir styled tree, it strong enough to hold my ornaments, especially the heavier ones and I love the style of it.  That afghan was once my beloved dog, Button’s blanket, when she passed away I wash it and pulled all the dog hair out of it and now used it as a tree skirt.  Love her and miss her so much, she was such a loyal and awesome dog.

I realized this past year how many ornaments I have, too many to put all of them on the tree.  Time to pass some of these ornament down to my kids for their Christmas trees.

That’s a Wendy Addison ornament above, the Noel one.  I had the opportunity to visit her shop earlier this year in Port Costa and bought a few ornaments.  Her shop is truly magical.

Found some more cameos at the vintage market here.  Love making ornaments with them.  Victorian style always steals my heart.

That cow below, I’ve kept out all year, we seem to have a farm-theme going on here, at least it feels that way sometimes LOL!  I like things that make me smile, and they do!

Hope you are all enjoying this beautiful Christmas season, if it was not for him aka “Jesus”, we wouldn’t be experiencing the beauty of this season.  God makes everything truly beautiful and times it just right, trust him.  Hopefully, I’ll post some more pics soon.  Blessings! xo

Luke 12:30-31 For the pagan world runs after all such things and your Father know that you need them.  But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well

Turkey Time!

This year we are not staying home to host a Thanksgiving dinner.  The newlyweds in the family are hosting Thanksgiving this year.  So looking forward to traveling up north to spend Thanksgiving with my middle son, Brian, Cassi and Pavarti.  I will be taking up some goodies too.  Brian and Cassi love to cook, this should be a fun adventure for sure.  Cassi and I will probably do a little antique shopping, Yes!

It’s turkey time around the homestead for sure  . . . mixed with some antiques always.

Rexy and I went antique shopping in Lake Elsinore Historic District, some of best antique shops up that way.  Found this adorable toy cash register, which still works and also came with some play money inside, love it.  It fully decorated and ready to go.

Of course, a little bit of Christmas cross stitch too, these were fun to do.  They’re sitting in a old photograph box.  The lock is broken on it, but I still bought it anyways.  I couldn’t resist that red paper lining inside.

My dolls are always ready to go out and be displayed,  no Christmas decorating is out yet, but I love to prepare for it.  Sometimes it’s so hard to wait.  Sometimes I wonder what I would do if we didn’t have holidays.  That’s what I’m all about, besides my kids aka adult kids, LOL!  Have a beautiful Thanksgiving with your family and friends, God Bless!

October is here . . . Happy Halloween!

The pic above are my children aka adult children, which is why I’ve always gone plum crazy around the holidays  . . . just to make them happy, but I actually think its me now that gets happy LOL!  My oldest, Davey will be 36 years old this November.  Where has the time gone?  I’ve had some of the best memories with these kiddos.  This picture will always tug at my heart and I put it out every Halloween.

Actually found this old black bird cage in an antique shop up north in Orville.  I can use it year around, its a fun piece. Anything old and tattered always steals my heart.

Love my pumpkins  . . . the middle is the oldest and has the most unique look.  Remember Mervyns, so miss that store, closed in 2009, found him there.

You know I always have to add one of my dolls, she’s a witch and I had her for awhile.  I’ve displayed her often at Halloween.  Check out those high heels on her in the pic below LOL!

Little bit of my paper art too!

Years ago, my Mom and I found the cutest gift shop, I can’t remember the name of it in Ontario, Ca.  I bought so many wonderful things from this shop.  She had these amazing wooden signs for all the seasons.  I have several of them and have enjoyed them all.  You really can’t find gift shops like that anymore.  Well, enjoy this Halloween season and get your “spooky” on!  Blessings xo

Yes . . . I love the holidays and Fall is coming!

Fall around the homestead  . . . you know me, can't wait to start decorating.  The house always looks prettier around the holidays!

Found this quilt below on Instagram, “Stitched and Found” and absolutely love it.  Definitely will try to hang it around Christmastime over my black dresser in the entry.

This quilt has an amber affect   . . . I love the different shade it has  . . . so pretty and tattered!

Halloween is coming up . . . thought I would stitch something for my bowl of “spooky goodness”.  This “Scared Silly” by “Bird of a Feather” will be a great addition.  Too cute.

Now for the weather to get just a little bit cooler, lately its been in the 90’s, makes it a little hard to feel like Falls coming.  Blessings! xo

Springtime Update . . . Lemonade Delight!

Here she is  . . . my replacement Spring doll for my kitchen rack that I decorate every season.  My Mom loves my dolls that I create and she wanted my blue and white Spring doll.  I just loved her, but I can never say no to my Mom when she wants one.  I offered her the Wedding Day doll but she wanted the blue and white Spring doll for sure.

They are all so sweet and I love each one of them dearly. They have a very fresh look to them and I know the pics don’t really show that.  It probably weren’t hurt if I purchased a good digital camera,  something to think about in the future. These pics are taken with my iPhone 8.

Actually I’m glad Mom didn’t take the Wedding Day doll, I felt that one belong to my future daughter in law, Cassi.  I gave it to her before she returned home after the Wedding Shower.  I’ll post some pics from that event soon.  I was so pleased how that event turned out.

Well my new Spring doll came out sweet  . . .  in the pics below, she’s holding a picture card of a lemonade stand with a flag hanging across it.  I created a duplicate flag with the picture card.  I like the way it turned out.

Well there she is hanging on my kitchen rack  . . . hopefully she’ll be there til Summer  lol!

Up next on the agenda is my middle son Brian’s wedding  . . . yes I’m so excited too.  When I return home it will be time to decorate for Summer.  I guess I’ll start all over again!  Blessings, xo

p.s. I’m already starting  . . . lol!

Bunnies are upon us . . . and a Marriage too!

Spring is definitely in the air!  It seems as I get older, time moves quicker and the body moves slower . . . LOL!  Don’t often post too much anymore.  So many bloggers have moved on, but I still enjoy posting.

I wasn’t able to say or post anything earlier until it was announced.  My middle son, Brian is getting married and I couldn’t be more happier for him and Cassilynn.  Funny thing, I now will have a daughter in law named Cassilynn and a daughter named Cassandra.  This will be fun . . no, I love it!

Rexy and I have been having fun with the kids, having breakfast with Cassandra and Josh at “The Snooze” food is good there.

Wanted to post some pics of Springtime around the Homestead.  I’m getting ready to give Cassilynn a Wedding Shower.  Been doing a lot of planning and purchasing for that event which is taking place at the Homestead early May 2019.  I’m so excited.  As you all know I love to decorate and craft.  Doing it for someone else . . . no problem.  Doing it for one of my own, scary to say the least.  I will post some pics in the weeks ahead of the wedding shower and wedding.

When Rexy and I were up north at the Paradise Fire, I found this adorable shop in Oroville called Mary Lake Thompson.  I purchased this little bird there along with some other cute stuff.

Nothing says Springtime like watering pots . . . love this look.

This is one of the many tea towels I bought at the Mary Lake Thompson store in Oroville.

Thats a vintage black birdcage . . . my latest find at an antique store up north.

I can always make time for some paper art . . . these are fun to do.

A new doll creation  . . . aimed for Spring theme and definitely got something different, I painted her lips a little too big but she looks pretty still.

Finish some more cross stitch “pink on pink”, I added some green for St. Patricks day.  I still have it out for Easter now.  I was blessed enough to find a perfectly “right shade of pink” frame to put the cross stitch in.

The weather has been beautiful lately, we got some time in on the bike too!

Hope you are enjoying Springtime  . . . I know I am.  Blessings, xo
