Trick or Treat at the Homestead

I know I'm doing it a little early . . .  Rexy and I will be out of town next week and it would be nice to return to the homestead fully decorated for the month of October.  I'm always loving the holidays as you know.  Didn't really buy too much this year for Halloween.  Michaels has some super cute turkey buzzards, they sort of have a funny look to their faces, which I love.  Haven't bought them yet, but thinking about it.  Don't really care for the evil looking Halloween decorations.

These rubber rats in this tin bucket is about the most scary decoration I have.  Never really wanted to scare my kiddos when they were growing up.

I take that back, this cat looks a little scary, bought him a long time ago, wished I would have bought some others too, good buy for sure.

Came across this picture when I was pulling my Halloween decorations out of the garage.  Are these two not the cutest.  That's my oldest son, Davey on the left, the little guy, who is now going to be 34 years old next month.  Gee how time flies!  That's my nephew on the right,  Danny-boy, I still call him by that name and he's almost 40 years old LOL!  These two have been prayed over quite a bit and always will be.  May God give them favor always.

Psalm 148 1-3

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord from the heavens, praise him in the heights above.  Praise him, all his angels, praise him, all his heavenly hosts.  Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shining stars. Blessings :O)

Things are about to get exciting again . . . . Fall's Coming!

Is Fall coming again  . . . I hope so, I really enjoy this season that's about to come upon us.  The kids will come home again from their busy lifes and visit one another again.  My oldest son in located in Colorado and my middle son is located up north now, and my baby, which is my daughter is located close by.  I just love it when they are all home and we are all together under one roof.

There's something special about all being together again, we eat, alot  . . . lol! We laugh just too much making fun of each other, drink gallons of coffee.  Throw in some Sees Candies in that too, our family favorite is See's peanut brittle, can't eat enough.

To be honest with you, I think it's me, that gets really excited and I'm probably the only one out of the bunch that thinks this way . . . lol!  As a Mom, I think we are the ones who create the family traditions.  My kids might not realize that now, but one day they will.  I feel as individuals we are always building towards something.  Creating is what I only know to do :O)

A long time ago, when I was a young mother, my Grandma told me, that when a house has no children in it, "it's dead".  I've never forgotten that and yes I can agree with her now.  The house is soo quiet, sometimes too quiet.  I love the noise, it shouts to me, "LIFE IS HAPPENING  . . . ENJOY IT!

Colossians 3:15 - 17

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace.  And be thankful.  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.  And what ever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

When Life Gets Too Quiet . . . Maybe time for a change, it's a good thing!

My season of my life is quiet right now  . . . I know it will be loud again, so I'll will enjoy this quiet.  I don't think I ever stop blogging, I know a lot of my friends don't post as often and have stopped blogging all together. Sort of miss that too.

As usual I like to keep my hands busy doing something.  I made this small pin cushion, "Summer Iris" by Blackbird Designs for a dear friend of mine about two years ago.  I loved it so much I decided to make one for myself.

Sorry for the dark pics, these were taken early in the morning

This is my sewing box for cross stitching and as you see there are two pairs of glasses, I used an old pair along with a pair of cheaters I bought at the dollar store awhile ago.  Looks pretty funny when I wear them, but they work lol!

Found these new "absorbent" ceramic coasters up north in Solvang, California, a couple of weeks ago.  Rexy took me there for my 60th birthday, boy I'm getting old, lol!   Loving them and they work very nicely.

Catching up with my magazine readings, sure miss County Home every month, this issue only comes out three or four times a year.  The internet has changed a lot of things over the years.

Bittersweet Joy

I think you all know Rexy by now. . . we were once two broken people with two broken hearts . . . but time has a way of healing one another.  When I met Rexy, I was a widow of two years and he was going through a divorce.  We met one Sunday afternoon, at my girlfriends house for a dinner party.  We became friends and remained that way for almost two years before going out on a date.  Our first date together was on Wednesday, January 22, 2014.  A lot of things have happened since then to say the least.

This man has changed my life, he has introduced me to Harley motorcycles in a big adventurous way!  We just completed our first ADA Grand Tour together to Fort Davis, Texas on the motorcycle, a little under 2800 miles.  I can check this one off my bucket list for sure.

We have had more breakfasts together than I can count, Molly's is one of our favorites in San Juan Caspistrano.

Rexy and I have had more fun together, doing kid kind of things, going to a amusement park, having pillow fights and always making fun of each other.  Snickers have a special meaning to Rexy and I.  If you have read some of my earlier postings, you would know that Rexy has given me a snickers bar every month on the 22nd since we first met, its our way of celebrating us coming together.

We have been out in the middle of no where, with friends on the motorcycle, always exciting!

We've been together through some unhappy things too, like his two neck surgeries, not fun. Rexy looks a little scared in this photo.

Remodeled an entire house together  . . . from the floor up.

I can't count how many selfies we have taken together . . . love them all :O)

We have built and planted things together too, some successful and some not . . . LOL!

We have so many pictures of us together on motorcycle adventures and special occasions too.

All I know . . . there is something about this face that I love so much and he makes things so good and makes me so happy to be alive . . . we share a beautiful life together and I thank God everyday for that  . . .  may God continue to let us share this wonderful life together.

"Bittersweet Joy" is the perfect title for this post.  Rexy and I were both married for 31 years to our spouses and were both contented in our lives and managed to find happiness in those challenging years, then tragedy struck and "us" happened.  This is our love story :O)

It's a girl kind of thing❤

It's always fun getting together with the family for a visit  . . . especially when it's just the girls!
Cassandy and I set up a date with Chris my sister-in-law and niece Sarah.  We met at Downtown Disney and had so much fun just talking and catching up.

We stop in for a bite at "Tortilla Joe's", yum yum, the food was delicious.  As usual we ate too many chips and salsa and of course, a Starbucks visit.  It's amazing how much time goes by, I think all of us just wanted to catch up with each other.  Everyone looked so good, which is always nice to see :O)

The day was sort of overcast, but that certainly didn't bring us down.  As some of you know, I love to make presents for my friends and family, so of course, I made some paper art creations.

This one above I made for Cassandra, my daughter.  I want her to hold these kinds of times together,  special, good reminder.

Sarah my niece has her own interior design business, I thought this one below would be pretty for her office.  It's cheerful looking.

This one above I made for my sweet sister-in-law, Chris, so bless to have her in my family.  It's always a peaceful visit and something I always look forward to.  Blessings :O)
