When I worked at Hughes Aircraft Company years ago, we got paid every Friday.  Payday Friday's were always the best  . .  it was so much fun back then.  Miss those days :O)

Well, I'm going to be doing some traveling the first week of August.  My middle son, Brian gave me a wonderful Mothers Day present.  A trip to go see him in Madison, Wisconsin and to the big city of Chicago.  I'm so excited to go . . it's been a while for me since I've done any traveling and really looking forward to this trip.  Cassandra my daughter, of course will be joining me.  So it time to get ready and do some shopping.

Little Pretties

I thought I would create some little pretties for my doll.  I originally had a bird's nest attached with some aqua blue seam binding ribbon, but I really didn't like the way it turned out.  So I decided on a necklace  brooch instead. Some oatmeal colored linen, pale pink rick rack trim and a few pieces of felt to create a little flower, added some straight stitches and french knots too.  Here some pics of it  . . it's certainly not perfect, but thats what I love about it.

Loving Nature

I have a love for nature in my home, anything connected to nature seems to attract me.  I recently found a cross stitch pattern book called The Four Seasons by Marjolein Bastin.  Of course, I've added one of the bird cross-stitch patterns to my kitchen counter.  This pattern sort of challenged me with so many colors, but actually that is what makes her designs so attractive.  The color of the aida (cross stitch cloth) was oatmeal.  I really liked the way it turned out.  Blessings :O)

Something Sweet Happened . . .

Sometimes something sweet happens when you least expect it . . . those are the best surprises.  I was surprised by someone very dear to me with this beautiful cross bracelet.  Thought I would share some pics, definitely need to get my hands done.  Thank you Jen-Jen :O)
